A NEW Marketing Manager will be spreading the word about an award-winning regional software house.
Nicola Jones has joined Gateshead-based Waymark from a Geneva-based financial services company, where she was Head of Marketing.
Originally from Buckinghamshire, Nicola studied art at the University of Brighton before starting her career in marketing and advertising.
After five years of working for London media companies, Nicola moved to Geneva to join a major Swiss finance company.
“I’m from an entrepreneurial family and my mum worked in advertising so the media world is something I’ve always known,” she explained.
“I’m passionate about creating and then building a brand and that’s what I want to do here at Waymark. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working abroad, but was ready to return to the UK. I considered moving back to London, but after meeting the Waymark guys my mind was made up.
“I don’t know Tyneside well, but I visited at Christmas and fell in love with the area – I’m excited to have moved here. Waymark are a young, ambitious company developing some creative and game-changing IT solutions and their work deserves a wider audience,” she added.
Waymark Commercial Director Paul Lofthouse said: “We realised that as part of our strategic growth plan we needed to improve our marketing and expand awareness of what we do. Nicola has great experience in brand development and marketing and we’re confident she can raise the profile of Waymark and the range of innovative products we have developed – and are continuing to develop – for our growing range of clients.
“We’re also in the process of recruiting three more people to our sales team, so it’s an exciting time for the company,” he added.
