We were delighted to have been selected to develop a mobile app to allow District Nurses to spend more time caring for their patients by reducing their administration time.
The nurses’ scheduled visits are sent electronically to the devices, which will dramatically reduce the amount of times they have to return to their base. The app allows the nurses to view patient notes and update their records, including arranging future appointments. In addition, the app produces a summary of cases so they can be reviewed when the nurses 'handover' at the end of their shifts.
The app was initially developed on the Windows Phone 8 operating system, although a subsequent iPhone app has now been developed too.
Nurses were able to complete more appointments per day and their daily burden of entering information into two separate databases has been removed entirely – a perfect example of how Waymark technology can create real-life, real-time efficiencies.
